I was born and educated in Australia where I completed my degrees in Medicine and subsequently worked in Australia, Indonesia, Canada and England. I retired from working as a doctor six years ago. In addition to my medical qualifications, I also gained qualification in Teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL). My two greatest passions have always been travel with the opportunity to learn about and experience different cultures and teaching young people.
Working at Learn4life in Siem Reap allows me to indulge in both of these great loves. I have now taught at Learn4life on four different occasions over the last. 6 years. A Learn4Life student once told me that learning English had opened up a doorway to the rest of the world for him and this reminded me how important it was for young Cambodians to learn about their own culture but also about the world at large. I sincerely believe that Learn4Life can contribute to this and improve the life chances of our students and this motivates me in my teaching here. I look forward to returning to Cambodia many times in the future.
